Since their inception in 1913, the Royal Doulton Pretty Ladies Collection Figurines have been one of Royal Doulton’s most popular ranges of collectible figures. Often characterized by the toe peeking out from a swirling dress, the appeal of Pretty Ladies is rooted in romantic names, beautiful faces and elegant gowns. Collectors are attracted to the rich, layered colors and brush strokes.
Carmen is from the Opera Heroines collection which was a limited series that was produced in participation with Compton and Woodhouse in 1997. She stands proudly in her beautiful pink and gold gilt dress, holding her fan that depicts a Spanish scene. Limited edition run of only 12,500 in total, a rare figurine.
