A vintage Royal Albert open tea sugar bowl in the iconic Old Country Roses pattern, made in England from fine bone china.
This is the larger open tea sugar bowl, measuring approximately 4¼ inches across. It has the traditional rounded Montrose shape with a raised foot, gently fluted edge and richly coloured arrangements of red, pink and yellow roses.
The bowl is finished with gold-coloured edging around the rim and foot. The backstamp reads “Old Country Roses, Royal Albert, Bone China, England, © Royal Albert Ltd 1962.”
The Old Country Roses pattern was introduced in 1962. Based on this backstamp variation, this individual piece was most likely produced between approximately 1973 and 1993.
Ideal as a replacement sugar bowl, small serving bowl, sweet dish or decorative piece for an afternoon-tea display.

Condition
Fair to good vintage condition with noticeable age-related wear.
No obvious chips, cracks, repairs or pronounced crazing can be seen in the photographs.
The floral decoration remains bright and attractive. There is significant rubbing, fading and darkening to the gold-coloured edging, particularly around the upper rim.
Grey and dark marks are visible around parts of the inside rim, together with light surface scratches, small marks and signs of previous use inside the bowl. There is also light shelf wear and discolouration around the underside foot.
