A beautiful vintage Aynsley 8-inch Vase in the discontinued Wild Tudor pattern, made in England from fine bone china.
The specialist-catalogued description for this particular form is the Wild Tudor 8-inch Vase, with the factory reference or specialist piece code VS8M3. Its actual catalogued height is approximately 8⅝ inches.
The vase has an elegant tall, pear-shaped body with a gently narrowed neck, softly flared scalloped opening and raised circular foot. Subtle moulded and embossed detailing runs through the white bone china, giving the surface additional texture.
The front is decorated with the distinctive Wild Tudor arrangement of English garden and wild flowers. The colourful botanical design includes rosebuds, pansies, thistles and smaller flowers in shades of red, pink, blue, lilac, yellow and green. A separate pansy spray decorates the upper neck.
Gold-coloured trim finishes the scalloped opening and the foot, complementing the floral decoration.
The underside carries the blue Aynsley crown backstamp reading “Est. 1775, Aynsley, Wild Tudor, Fine Bone China, Made in England.”
Wild Tudor was produced from approximately 1991 to 2001. This example therefore dates from the 1990s or very early 2000s and is approximately 25–35 years old.
The vase is suitable for displaying individual stems, a narrow bouquet or a dried flower arrangement. It is also decorative enough to display empty on a mantelpiece, dresser, sideboard, console table or shelf. Its classic English floral design would suit traditional, cottagecore, botanical or romantic interiors and would appeal to collectors of Aynsley Wild Tudor china.
