A beautiful complete vintage Aynsley tea trio in the discontinued Wild Tudor pattern, made in England from fine English bone china.
The trio consists of a Crocus Relief teacup, its matching tea saucer and a 6¼-inch tea or side plate. Together, the three pieces form a traditional individual afternoon-tea place setting.
The teacup, saucer and side plate all feature Aynsley’s elegant Crocus Relief shape, with softly spiralled fluting moulded into the white bone china. The cup has a gently flared profile and an elegant loop handle, while both plates have softly scalloped edges.
Each piece is decorated with colourful garlands of English garden and wild flowers in shades of pink, blue, lilac, yellow and green. The design includes pansies, pinks, blue flowers, rosebuds and delicate forget-me-not-style blossoms with fine green foliage.
Gold-coloured trim finishes the cup rim and handle, together with the outer edges of the saucer and side plate.
The underside of the cup carries the printed Aynsley crown backstamp reading “Est. 1775, Aynsley, Wild Tudor, Made in England, Fine English Bone China.”
The Wild Tudor pattern was produced from approximately 1991 to 2001. This places the trio within the 1990s or around the turn of the millennium, making it approximately 25–35 years old.
The trio would be ideal for serving tea with a biscuit, cake or afternoon-tea treat. It would also make a charming display set for a china cabinet, dresser or kitchen shelf and would appeal to collectors of Aynsley Wild Tudor and vintage English floral tableware.
