Vintage Royal Doulton collector plate titled “Spitfire Coming Home”, from the Heroes of the Sky collector’s plate series.
This beautiful aviation-themed decorative plate features a RAF Spitfire flying low over a countryside scene, with two children watching from a gate below. The artwork is by Michael Turner and captures a nostalgic wartime aviation scene with soft countryside colours and lovely detail.
The reverse is marked Limited Edition, “Spitfire Coming Home”, first issue in the collector’s plate series entitled Heroes of the Sky, reproduced from the original work by Michael Turner and fired to the highest quality standards of Royal Doulton. Plate number shown on reverse. This edition was limited to a maximum of 75 firing days.
Comes with the original information leaflet/certificate shown in the photos. A lovely display piece for collectors of Royal Doulton, RAF memorabilia, military aviation, World War II aircraft, Spitfire artwork or decorative collector plates.
Decorative display item only and not intended for food use.
Condition:
Good vintage pre-owned condition with light age-related wear/marks. Hanger attached to the reverse for wall display. Please see photos carefully as they form part of the description.
