Today, Pretty Ladies are the epitome of a bygone age of elegance and romance, and have become collectable as much for individual artistry as well as set ranges. Often characterised by the toe peeping out from a swirling dress, their appeal can come from a romantic name or a beautiful gown. They are handmade from bone china, individually decorated by hand, which contributes both to the collectability and the lasting allure of Royal Doulton Pretty Ladies.
This collection of lovely ladies was perhaps based on the sophisticated young women living in Chelsea, an area in London known for it’s contemporary art and fashion..
