Beautiful vintage Aynsley Pembroke hexagonal vase, made in England from fine English bone china.

This is the smaller approximately 4-inch hexagonal vase, rather than the larger 8⅞-inch Pembroke version. Matching examples of this particular shape are recorded at approximately 4inches tall.

The vase has a gently faceted hexagonal body, rounded shoulders, a short flared hexagonal neck and fine gold edging around the top rim.

It is decorated with Aynsley’s classic Pembroke pattern, featuring a colourful blue and pink bird perched among winding branches, large pink flowers, smaller red and blue blooms and green foliage. Smaller floral sprays continue around the reverse and neck.

The underside carries the genuine factory backstamp:

Fine English Bone China
Pembroke
Reproduction of an Eighteenth Century Aynsley Design

The discontinued Pembroke collection was produced from approximately 1968 to 2015 and is based on colourful bird-and-flower decoration inspired by eighteenth-century Asian art.

The individual vase is not factory date-coded. Based on its backstamp and giftware style, it is most appropriately described as a late-20th-century piece, likely dating from approximately the 1980s–1990s. This date is an informed estimate rather than a precise factory date.

A lovely decorative vase for a mantelpiece, sideboard, hallway table or china cabinet. It could hold a small bouquet, dried flowers or artificial stems, or simply be displayed as collectible English bone china.

Good vintage pre-owned condition overall.

No obvious chips, cracks or major damage can be seen in the photographs. There are light surface marks and signs of previous display and handling.

Visible age-related marks and discolouration are present around the underside foot rim. The gold edging appears well retained overall, although minor age-related wear may be present.

A red painted “S” mark is visible beside the factory backstamp.

Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description and condition report.
