Beautiful vintage Aynsley Cottage Garden small lidded ginger jar, made in England from fine bone china.
This decorative jar has an elegant rounded body with softly ribbed or fluted sides, a raised circular foot and a matching removable domed lid finished with a rounded finial.
It is decorated with Aynsley’s classic Cottage Garden pattern, featuring colourful roses, bluebells and other cottage flowers, green foliage, and blue and red butterflies against a glossy white background.
Specialist replacement-china catalogues record the smaller Cottage Garden ginger jar at approximately 4⅝ to 5 inches high, including the lid. Based on those records and its proportions against the hand shown, this is the small approximately 5-inch version rather than one of Aynsley’s larger ginger jars.
The underside carries the genuine factory backstamp:
