Beautiful vintage Aynsley Cottage Garden standing cat figurine, made in England from fine bone china.
The ornament depicts an alert standing cat with pointed ears, raised curved tail and delicately moulded facial features. It stands on an integral shaped base and is decorated on both sides.
The classic Cottage Garden decoration features colourful roses, bluebells and other cottage flowers, green foliage and a blue butterfly against glossy white fine bone china. Delicate gold accents have been applied to the cat’s eyes and nose.
The original blue and gold Aynsley foil label remains attached to the underside.
Current catalogue and marketplace records describe this design simply as an Aynsley Cottage Garden Cat Animal Figurine. I have not found reliable evidence of a separate named mould, so “standing cat figurine” is the clearest and most accurate description.
The underside carries the genuine factory mark:
